The Planning Center deposit, posted by fund.

Church bookkeeping starts with the deposit. Connect Planning Center Giving and map its funds once. Upload the payout report, and the deposit posts as one balanced journal, split by fund. Import the same payout again and nothing posts twice.

Sample
Journal entry JE-1042, a Planning Center payout of 128 gifts: $4,155.53 to operating checking for the General fund, $1,250.00 for the Building Fund and $162.47 of giving processing fees, against $4,318.00 of unrestricted giving and $1,250.00 of building fund giving, posted by Ruth Whitfield, treasurer, with a button to reverse it

Church financial software that keeps restricted gifts apart.

Each fund keeps its restriction class, its net assets and its income and spending for the year. A restricted gift stays restricted until the church releases it.

Sample
Funds for Cedar Hill Baptist Church: General without donor restrictions at $38,104.22, the Building Fund, Youth Camp and Food Pantry with donor restrictions, and the perpetual Cemetery Fund, with the General fund open to show $198,848.08 of income and $181,803.98 of expenses this year

Write and print checks.

Type the payee and amount, and the check takes the next number. A check above your limit waits for a second approval, and a voided check keeps its number in the register.
